Dorothy Rodham, Mother of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Died in Washington at 92

WASHINGTON - Dorothy Rodham, mother of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, died at the age of 92 Tuesday morning. She died at Georgetown University Hospital surrounded by family, according to the Clinton family’s statement.

Earlier on Monday, Hillary Clinton postponed her official visits to London and Turkey due to serious condition of her mother. She was with her mother in Washington D.C. when her mother breathed her last moments.

Rodham kept herself away from, despite her daughter’s public life, giving only one televised interview, which aired on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2004.

“She was – a warm, generous and strong woman,” the Clinton family said in a statement, “an intellectual; a woman who told a great joke and always got the joke; an extraordinary friend and, most of all, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.”
