REYKJAVIK, Iceland (May 22) – The eruption from the most active Volcano of Iceland is going to threaten the flights in the Europe, like last year’s tragedy.

The latest eruption from Grimsvotn volcano started on Saturday, chucking a cloud of ash and smoke far into the sky, which is being vigilantly monitored by aviation authorities to issue a red signal for flights, whenever it would be inevitable. 

The clouds from the Grimsvotn volcano can be seen 20 km (12 miles) into the sky. According to aviation sources; European airline traffic is not expected to be affected at least for the next 24 hours, although the flights close to the erupted volcano have already been banned.

The Morgunbladid newspaper website stated the recent volcano eruption is more powerful than its last in 2004.
