Mark Zuckerberg Named GQ Magazine's Worst Dressed Man in Silicon Valley

Surely the easiest of targets? GQ magazine has compiled a list of badly dressed geeks. Search for Silicon Valley CEOs, check. Order by influence, check. Slag them off, check.

The list is comprised mostly of hoodies and turtlenecks with a few jackets and shirts in there, and all matched up with blue jeans and / or a pair of wrap-around black sunglasses.


Zuckerberg has history with fashionistas, having come out on top of Esquire's worst dressed list in January. In this list he's joined by Steve Jobs (2), Bill Gates (3), Shantanu Narayen (CEO of Adobe, 4), Dennis Crowley (Co-founder of Foursquare and Dodgeball, 5), Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn, 6).

Here's GQ's verdict on Zuck's style:

Style Sins: Oblivious to the fact that jeans and ties come in skinny sizes—or that suits exist—the father of Facebook (and we do mean father) loves to recycle the fresh-from-Stats-class look. Zuck's style is so poor, it even inspired a mock fashion line, Mark By Mark Zuckerberg, which thankfully doesn't sell any actual clothing.

If Zuckerberg's is harsh he gets off light compared to the verdict on investor Ron Conway:

Style Sins: No use telling this veteran angel investor to fire his tailor. It looks like he already did. Even as a heftier man, high water trousers aren't supposed to hover above your ankles, effectively cutting off your height, nor should blazers graze thighs. The effect can be penguin-ish.
