Subatomic Particles, Neutrinos, Travelled Faster Than Light -- Conflicting with Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity

All students of physics are very much familiar with Albert Einstein and his theory of Special Relativity which states that a physical object cannot travel faster than the speed of light in a vacuum.

But recently physicists have discovered something which apparently contradicts with the Einstein’s Theory of Relativity that could potentially reform our perception of the physical world.

According to details; physicists, working at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland and a laboratory in Italy, have reported that sub-atomic particles called neutrinos can travel faster than light. The finding, if verified, would be conflicting with Einstein's theory of relativity.

In their experiments the researchers found that neutrinos travelled at a speed of 300,006 kilometres per second, faintly faster that the speed of light.

Reportedly, researchers spent almost six months "checking, testing, controlling and rechecking everything" before announcing publicly the results of their experiments on Thursday (Sept. 22). 

The findings and its implications were so unbelievable that the researchers involved in this experiment made the results available online and invited the physicists around the globe to scrutinize and analyse the results of their experiments before they finalize their conclusion.
