The 80-year-old Abdulfattah John Jandali, the biological father of Steve Jobs, said Wednesday that he knew of his separated son is dead; but he was not ready for any comments and interview.

Reno-based Abdulfattah Jandali, a vice president at Boomtown Hotel Casino and a former professor at the University of Nevada, regrets his interview that was given to London tabloid The Sun in which he wished to meet Jobs, who was given up for adoption as a baby.

Steve Jobs was born in February 1955 in San Francisco to Syrian-born student Jandali and graduate student Joanne Schieble, The Sun reported. But Jobs was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs as baby because Jandali and Schieble were young and unmarried.

Jobs did not react to Jandali’s interview published in The Sun.

Jandali told the Reno Gazette-Journal, last month, that the interview with The Sun was “a mistake.” He further told that he would not openly talk about his son again.
