Onna Ehrlich, the bag and accessories designer

Onna
Onna Ehrlich is just seven years in the fashion scene and she has indeed carved a niche for herself. Her bags are getting a lot of celebrity interest such as Lindsay Lohan, Haller Berry, Cameron Diaz, Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and Rihanna.
Onna was born and brought up in Zaria to a Nigerian mother and an American father, who at that time was a professor of architecture at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Like most African Designers, onna credits her cultural heritage as a major influence in her work. She explains that all her bags are inspired and named after women who are dear to her heart. Her first bag was named 'grace', after her mom. The graduate of the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California believes that working smarter not harder, is one of the reasons for her success.
Evidently, this philosophy has culminated in her products being currently retailed in over 350 high-end boutiques and department stores worldwide including Bloomingdale, Harvey Nichol's, Nordstroms and Nieman Marcus.
Onna has plans of expanding into the Nigerian market, and already she has a sizeable number of loyalists. The Onna Ehrlich brand has received positive reviews from fashion magazines such as Seventeen, O Magazine, Today's Black Woman and Upscale. She is also engaged in charity work and gives part of her profits to carefully selected Nigerian charities.
