2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Japan beat USA 3-1 to lift the title

FRANKFURT, Germany - The most spectacular Women’s World Cup final in history has produced the most surprising champion at the end.

Japan became the first Asian nation to win the Women’s World Cup on Sunday, beating the United States in a penalty shootout after both sides were level at 2-2 after extra time.

 

The Japanese denied the U.S. team the chance to become the first country to lift the cup three times.

Blueprints of New Headquarters Building of Germany's Intelligence Agency BND Were Stolen

Germany's BND responsible for gathering intelligence abroad

BERLIN, Germany (July 12) — Blueprints of the new headquarters of Germany’s secret service BND has reportedly been missing and the chief of the service has admitted the fact but just negated the threats associated with this fact.

Ernst Uhrlau, chief of foreign intelligence BND, told media that the stolen blueprints are those of a parking area and of a "power generating centre", not those "at the heart" of BND intelligence-gathering offices currently under construction and due for completion in 2014. 

The documents in question were labelled as ‘confidential’ but not ‘top secret’. Uhrlau further added that the building plans can be changed if the stolen blueprints would seem to cause any threat. 

The BND, responsible for gathering intelligence abroad, has its headquarters in Pullach, on the outskirts of the southern city of Munich. Following reunification it was decided however to move them to Berlin and building started there in 2006.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani extended his warm wishes to Qureshi and his Indian partner Rohan Bupona for winning the doubles event of Gerry Weber Tennis Tournament.

E.coli  Outbreak in Europe: Germany's Health Minister Daniel Bahr Warned of More Deaths

BERLIN, Germany – Authorities in Germany have identified the source of the E.coli outbreak as being vegetable sprouts from an organic farm in Lower Saxony, northern Germany.

E. coli outbreak has killed 32 people already in Germany, While Mr Daniel Bahr, Health Minister of Germany, warned of more possible deaths even the source of infection has been identified. 

Daniel Bahr, talking to Bild am Sonntag newspaper, said, “'More fatalities cannot be ruled out, painful though it is to say so.”

MONACO – German Formula One Driver Sebastian Vettel having a wonderful season taking his tally to five wins out of six races this season with the latest victory today (Sunday/May 29) in Monaco Grand Prix. 

Red Bull’s Vettel achieved the latest victory over Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button in a thriller in which many drivers couldn’t succeed to finish.

 

Michael Schumacher, seven-time former champion, was among those who failed to finish the race; along with Ferrari's Felipe Massa, and Vitaly Petrov, whose Renault was involved in the late crash that halted the race.

 

Sebastian Vettel, defending F1 Champion, had only one loss in this season against McLaren's Lewis Hamilton beat him in China.

Germany's European champion broke world record in Halle, Germany

The world record was broken by clear more than one-meter difference as Betty Heidler threw 79.42m. The previous record was made by Poland's world champion Anita Wlodarczyk by throwing 78.30m in June 2010.
