Happy Birthday, Mike Netzer!

It's Mike Nasser's birthday today! Long-time chum of the Street and pretty much solid kinda guy, that he is, here's hoping you'll all join me in wishing the big man a cracker of a day!  Have a great one, Mike!

and this, from House of Mystery # 276.

I'm not Free. Oh, but I'm cheap.

You want a groovy free t-shirt?  Of course you do.  Well, that's handy.  Because those crazy cats at Nerdyshirts have given me a t-shirt, just for you.  How cool are they? 'ey?  Top dudes.  And this is the shirt. . .

Awesome, is it not?  Imagine the look on the ladies faces when you step out in this belter.  That there's John Romita's way cool art for Marvel Team-Up # 9.  And it's Xtra large.  And it's yours.  On only two conditions.  The first condition is that you have to be a Follower of the Street.  And the second condition is that you have to answer a question.  But I haven't thought of a question, yet.  So, what I'm proposing is: answer a question.  Any question you want.  And send me your answer, in an e-mail, making sure that you mark it: JOE IS TOTALLY BOSS.  At the end of the week, I'll pick me favourite answer, and you get your shirt!  How easy is that?  Big thanks to Trevor for this one.  You're a star, Trev, mate!

So, yeah, good luck with that, and if you don't win, worry not.  Nerdyshirts have got a whole load of proper fab shirts and other stuff, more than enough stuff to keep the nerdiest of the nerds as chuffed as chuffed is.  And they're cracking good chaps, too.  Pop on over, buy some shit, tell 'em Joe sent you.

Righty-o, then.  From 2000AD # 739, by John Wagner, Cliff Robinson, and Gina Hart, here's Judge Dredd in Watchdogs.

The Morning After Post.

Having a bit of a Dredd reunion, due in no small part to having read only last weekend the complete Cursed Earth.  That explains the Dredd pics. So. Time to clear out the inbox.  In answer to Lev's question, current groovy tunes playing in and around the House of Joe this glorious weekend are Blowfish by Bob Geldof, Until You Come Back To Me by Floy Joy, Fascinating Rhythm by Bass-O-Matic, Freedom Fighters by Two Steps From Hell, Les Fleurs by Ramsey Lewis, and I Am the Black Heart of the Sun by Rotary Connection.

And, Michael B, one of my favourite series that fell by the wayside was Cary Bates and Gene Colan's 'eighties new format maxi-series Silverblade.

It was a great little series, about a washed-up typecast actor who is granted the power to become any character that he has played on screen for real by a magic bird.  Unfortunately, it's largely forgotten now, and, doomed forever to dwell in that special little corner of the DC universe reserved for Slash Maraud and Skreemer.  Oh, well.

David, here's Maria Whittaker.

And, for Josh, Michelle Marsh.

And, for no apparent reason, what-so-ever, here's some Enric Torres.
