ABSU gang rape walk threatened

I received this message this morning on the proposed walk to protest the gang rape of a female student in ABSU that is scheduled to take place in three states today.

According to Josephine Effah-Chukwuma of Project Alert on Violance Against Women, "Yesterday the SSS in Abuja advised against the Walk in the FCT because according to them, they could not guarantee the security of participants due to Boko Haram threats.

The Umuahia walk is being threatened by the state police command, who apart from refusing to provide protection for the participants, "ordered" (who gave them that right) that such a walk should not take place. Meanwhile the Abia State government kept announcing on radio that no resident of the state should participate in the walk.
Interestingly, it is in the same Umuahia, that students of the same university, "staged a protest march against the labelling of their university as a rape site"

From all indications, its only the Lagos walk, that will be taking place. SO MUCH FOR DEMOCRACY.

What can I say?
