| Manal al-Sharif: The woman detained for driving in Saudi Arabia |
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – A Saudi woman, Manal al- Sharif, was reportedly detained by authorities for driving in Saudi Arabia, due to violation of Saudi Laws that prohibits women's driving.
Manal al-Sharif also accused of launching a campaign against driving ban for women in the Kingdom. She also owns a social website Facebook page titled "Teach me how to drive so I can protect myself," which advocates authorities to end the driving ban on Saudi women.
Ms al-Sharif has earlier posted a video of herself on the Youtube while driving in order to support other Saudi women to drive. She went on a test drive in the eastern city of Khobar and later posted a video of the experience."
