Faisalabad: Theft Plan of 11-KV Electric Wires Avoided by the Interruption of FESCO and Police

FAISALABAD, Pakistan (Sept. 22) – A plan to steal 11-KV overhead line was reportedly averted, rather fortunately, when police interrupted in time on the complaint of FESCO (Faisalabad Electric Supply Company) official who was informed by residents of the area after a total blackout.

According to details; few unidentified culprits removed two spans of 11-KV wires from the area of Bandala Sub-Division with the help of a cutter at Chak 40-RB Chatti, a suburban area of Faisalabad. The cutting of wires costs at least Rs 200,000 to FESCO due to damages of different electric accessories. 

The thieves also removed about 635-meter long nine spans of 11-KV wires near Chak 95-RB Dosanja, damaging different electric accessories as a result, costing very high to FESCO. 

Meanwhile, residents of the area forced to lodge a complaint to FESCO staff due to long power outage. FESCO staff in supervision of SDO Nadeem Akbar responded promptly to reach the site and also informed the police. As soon as police and FESCo staff reached at the site the thieves escaped from the scene leaving the removed wire.

A case has been filed in Balochani Police Station against the unknown culprits.
