OWS Protesters Ad to be Aired on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor"

WASHINGTON – The viewers of Fox News and Bloomberg Business TV are largely considered as the opposition to the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ (OWS) movement; but now the same viewers will see the OWS ad on these channels on Wednesday night.

The OWS ad will be aired three times during "The O'Reilly Factor." The ad time was bought by some of the filmmakers who support OWS movement. The ad will be aired on several other cable channels as well.

Reportedly, a crowd-sourcing website called Loudsauce collected the online donations from 168 people to buy the commercial time on both of the channels. Loudsauce facilitates small donations of less than $100.

According to Colin Mutchler, Loudsauce co-founder, the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) ad will run Wednesday once during the 8 p.m. ET time slot of "The O'Reilly Factor" and twice during the 11 p.m. time slot.

O'Reilly has called the Occupy demonstrators "quasi-socialist" and "loons."

The increasing popularity and acceptance of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) Movement across the globe is certainly haunting the nations which believe on strict censorship of media. The OWS started with just few hundreds from lower Manhattan has spread Manhattan to cities around the globe, including London, Auckland, Toronto, and Rome, among many others.

Many in the world, especially anti-communism think tanks, believe strictly that if the Chinese government is against it, you're probably doing something right. Reportedly, China has taken strict measures to stop prospective “Occupy Shanghai” movement and tried to cut the basic means which helped transform to a global movement started with a very few numbers of activists in U.S.

According to UC Berkeley publication China Digital Times, Sina Weibo, China's hyper-popular microblogging site, is now restricting any and all search keywords that could tentatively be related with OWS movement.

"A long list of banned keywords on Sina Weibo’s search function has been uncovered and tested by the CDT team yesterday," writes Sandra Hernandez. "All the listed phrases stick to one simple rule: a combination of 'occupy' (占领) and a place name—provincial capitals, economically developed regions, and few symbolic local areas."

In short hundreds of millions of Sina Weibo users are no longer allowed to search for "Ocupy Beijing," for instance.

Responses about corruption

Many people assumed that the alleged corruption committed by the former congregational council year period 1999-2004, is one of destruction. People consider that the investigation of this case, should continue sustained, and continues until the top-level investigation.

The 35-year-old Buddhist nun, Palden Choetso, shouted, "Long live the Dalai Lama!" and "Let the Dalai Lama return to Tibet!" before setting herself on fire on Thursday in predominantly Tibetan Ganzi prefecture in Sichuan province. She was the 11th Tibetan monk, nun or former monk to self-immolate in western China in recent months.

While a Tibetan man has set himself ablaze outside the Chinese embassy in New Delhi to demand independence for Tibet. After this case there have now been 12 similar cases of self-immolation this year as part of protests against Chinese rule in Tibet.

The reports suggest that at least five have died in such fiery protests of Tibetan complaint about restrictions on their culture and religion and the continued exile of their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.

Daylight Savings Time in the United States of America starts on the second Sunday in March of each year and ends the first Sunday in November of each year.

When on standard time, the time zones in the USA are Alaska Standard Time, Pacific Standard Time (PST), Mountain Standard Time (MST), Central Standard Time (CST), and Eastern Standard Time (EST).

When on daylight savings time, the time zones in the USA become Alaska Daylight Savings Time, Pacific Daylight Saving Time (PDT), Mountain Daylight Saving Time (MDT), Central Daylight Saving Time (CDT), and Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT).

Many other nations observe some form of daylight savings time, but not all start and end it at the same times as the USA does. Additionally, not all states in the USA support it. Arizona, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, U.S Virgin Islands and American Samoa do not.

In a latest head-to-head poll, the results show that Herman Cain is leading President Barack Obama, according to the survey from Rasmussen Reports released Monday. The poll of 1,000 likely voters was held Oct. 14-15 with a margin of error upto three percentage points.

Herman Cain's lead is a narrow one, with 43 percent compared with Obama's 41 percent, but interestingly he is the only Republican to have any lead over Obama in head-to-head polls conducted by Rasmussen over the past several weeks.

Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor for the term from 2003 to 2007, was straggling Obama 41 percent to 43 percent in another survey earlier in October, but that is as close as a candidate has come.

Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan and scarce political experience will certainly be scrutinized even more closely after his marginal lead over President Obama in the recent poll.

Experts and analysts have enough doubts about Cain's ability to stay at the top.

The latest and updated results, shown in screen shot above, are quite surprising for the FOX News network which is believed to be against the OWS movement and had not covered it as much as it has the intensity to penetrate and spread around the globe.  

 

The results show that more than 69% (136,5723 votes) answered the question asked as "YES", means they agree with the OWS movement; while only 27.47 % (54,255 votes) ticked the answer "NO".

 

Less than 3% of the participants are not sure whether the OWS movement represents their views on economy.

Clashes Between Pro and Anti-regime Forces Left at Least Six Dead in Yemen

SANAA, Yemen (Oct. 16) – At least six reported killed, including five in capital Sanaa and one woman in southern city of Taiz, as a result of clashes between Yemeni protesters and pro-Saleh security forces, according to media reports.

 Mohammed al-Qubati, a doctor at the field clinic at the demonstrators’ camp in Sanaa, told that three demonstrators and two soldiers who defected and joined the protesters were killed in the capital today.

Anti-regime protests started in Yemen with the beginning of this year inspired by the uprising and revolutions in neighbor countries like Tunisia and Egypt which forced the longtime rulers to roll their beds and leave the power.

The political crisis in Yemen worsened as military and tribal leaders joined the opposition. Efforts by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to broker a power-transfer agreement have already failed.

NEW YORK – At least three 'Occupy Wall Street' (OWS) protesters were held by police, according to an eyewitness, after a brief clash between horse-ridden police and OWS protesters in New York's Times Square during a worldwide day of 'outrage' against corporate greed and social injustice.

 Earlier in the day police detained more than 24 protesters after they entered forcefully in a Citibank branch near Washington Square Park, NYPD spokesperson said. Police force was rushed to the bank after an emergency call from bank staff informing about the intrusion of many OWS protesters.

Reportedly, demonstrations and protest rallies also held in many countries across the globe demanding to end the era of corporate greed and social injustice.

Protests in Financial District of New York began with start of the day and thousands of people gathered on Times Square, the major commercial intersection, divided by police barriers.

In the presence of large number of NY police students, families with baby carriages and trade unionists, rallied towards Wall Street carrying placards, chanting: “We are the 99 per cent,” “We are the people” and “Mr Obama we need your support.”

Police on horseback stopped protesters who were trying to enter Times Square. Families joined the march and several open-top buses filled with tourists cheered on the protesters by making the V for victory sign.

PTI Rally in Faisalabad -- Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif cannot be trusted to check on each other: Imran Khan

FAISALABAD, Pakistan (Oct. 07) – Asif Ali Zaradari and Nawaz Sharif are not meant to keep check on one another because both of them have kept their black money outside Pakistan, said Imran Khan, the cricketer-turned-politician and chief of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).

Khan, addressing a rally in Faisalabad, further said if PTI comes in power then it would implement a law under which all those will be banned who don’t declare their assets as corrupt politicians could not be expected to keep a check on one another since they would strike a deal to get out.

He criticised the government policies of increasing tax burden on poor making them even poorer. Pakistan is presented as beggar in the world despite of vast natural resources it has, just because of corrupt politicians. The only solution to take Pakistan to the roads of prosperity is ‘to get rid of corrupt politicians, he said.    

He said that the only reasons that both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari had the most of their wealth saved in foreign assets was that they wanted to evade taxes and ferry off their ill-gotten wealth.

The first step PTI would take once assumes the power, Khan said, would be to introduce a law where in those whose assets are in foreign countries and undisclosed would not be allowed to take part in local politics.

Hackers Group 'Anonymous' Threat to Erase NYSE from Internet on Oct. 10

According to a latest video posted on Youtube (shared below here); the hackers group, called Anonymous, has threaten to erase New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) from the internet on October 10 in support of the OWS protesters fighting against exploitation by Wall Street. 

Few key excerpts from Group’s Youtube message are given here:

“This is why we choose to declare our war against the New York Stock Exchange. We can no longer stay silent as the population is being exploited and forced to make sacrifices in the name of profit.

We will show the world that we are true to our word. On October 10th, NYSE shall be erased from the Internet. On October 10th, expect a day that will never, ever, be forgotten.”

The Anonymous are kind of hacker-activists and have been allegedly involved in attacks on corporate and government websites in the past like MasterCard Inc. (MA) and Visa Inc. (V).

Reportedly, members of the group use specialized software to launch the attacks, which can slow or crash the site for a short period of time.

In response to this threat message when NYSE administration was asked to comment; a spokesperson for NYSE Euronext (NYX) Richard Adamonis, which operates the exchange, said the company doesn’t comment on rumors or security matters.

Occupy Wall Street (OWS) claims masses will participate in protests and rallies in as many as 147 US cities in October, while the website occupytogether.org lists 47 US states as being involved. 

Patrick Bruner, the media spokesperson of OWS movement said, "We have on our board right now 147 US cities. I don't know whether they are occupied or they are planning on being occupied. My guess would be over 30 cities are occupied."

The speedy acceptance, growth and popularity of the leaderless but spirited OWS has taken many by surprise. Occupytogether.org, one of numerous sites linked with the protest, has had to be rebuilt to hold the increasing web traffic.

Zardari Proved Himself a Threat to Pakistan and Democracy: Says PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif,

LAHORE - Nawaz Sharif, chief of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), reiterated that he was absolutely right when he predicted, few years back, Asif Ali Zardari as a threat to democracy in Pakistan.

The Express Tribune quoted Sharif, as saying: “President Zardari is proving to be a threat to democracy, as I predicted a few years back.”

Speaking in a meeting of Central Working Committee (PML-N), he sternly condemned Zardari and blamed his government for the increase in foreign loans, corruption, bad governance, poor foreign policy and unprecedented load-shedding throughout Pakistan.

“The country is being run in a very shameful way and the rulers are insensitive to the problems of the masses,” Nawaz Sharif said.

Nawaz Sharif presented the facts and figure according to which Pakistan’s foreign debt has been almost tripled, after increasing from 3 trillion rupees to 8 trillion rupees, if compared to his last term of premiership.

Pakistan has been presented as a beggar to outer world, said Nawaz Sharif. Foreign investors are hesistant because of lawlessness in country while local investors are fleeing out of Pakistan due to overall security threat and unavailability of suitable infrastructure, he added further.

Nawaz Sharif also said that the present government of People Party has given the people of Pakistan nothing but humiliation, and that the country is being isolated internationally due to the erroneous policies of the government lead by Asif Ali Zardari.

The participants are being urged by the activists to dress up as "corporate zombies" on Monday.

NY police has already arrested more than 700 participants on Saturday  after they came on Brooklyn Bridge and closed down a traffic lane for hours.

“Occupy Chicago,” for instance, entered its 10th day on Sunday, a day after a linked website pushed “a huge afternoon march.”

Los Angeles is not also away from the revolution happening around. The movement “Occupy Los Angeles” started Saturday with a rally from Pershing Square to City Hall. A website linked with the movement has a motto on its top which reads:

“The revolution is happening … It’s just not in the news.”

The focal point of Occupy Wall Street movement, in Lower Manhattan, was echoing with bustle on Sunday as the participants continued to voice their frustrations with everything from “corporate greed” to high gas prices to inadequate health insurance.

It's uncertain how long the protests will go on, or whether they will be as forceful in other cities of U.S. as in New York. Much of the activity in other cities is happening online on Facebook, same like the early stage of the New York protest.

NEW YORK – At least 500 "Occupy Wall Street" demonstrators have been arrested by New York City police after they mobbed the Brooklyn Bridge and close down a lane of traffic for many hours.

Around 500 people were held for blocking traffic during an unlawful rally across Brooklyn Bridge, police sources confirmed.

"Occupy Wall Street" activists - protesting against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances - have been camping out in New York's financial district for two weeks and clashed with police on earlier occasions.

Reportedly, the march started in Lower Manhattan, and as protesters advanced to the access to the Brooklyn Bridge, some people entered the pedestrian walkway, while others entered the Brooklyn-bound roadway, walking with traffic, according to several witnesses.
